This non-destructive method transmits electromagnetic pulses into the subsurface and based on the reflected signals, it detects presence and location of subsurface targets. GPR can be used in varieties of medium including soil, rock, concrete, ice, freshwater etc. It can detect subsurface objects (rebar, post-tensioned cables, underground utilities), changes in material, voids, cracks etc. GPR can be utilized in several different applications including but not limited to Geotechnical, Subsurface Utility Engineering, and Environmental Engineering.
